February Challenge
As I promised earlier this week, I’m launching my “23 in 2013 Challenge” this month. To get this party started, I’m going to concentrate on a short story I’ve been wanting to write for a few weeks. The story is tentatively titled “Casualties of Time.”
“Casualties” is a science fiction story about a modern day government agent who finds himself time-shifted to November 1948, into the middle of a war between Earth and “Martians.”
Right now, I’m writing this story with an eye toward submitting it to an online anthology. The deadline is in March, so I’m giving myself a little more than a month to write and revise. If all goes well, I’ll have this story knocked out in the next 28 days. (Of course I’m starting this challenge on the shortest month of the year!)
You can follow my progress with “Casualties” by checking out the cool progress meter in the sidebar. (Initially, I’ve set the word count at 5,000. But I have no idea how long this story might be.)
For the record, I’m counting the short story, “Charming,” I wrote in January. So, that’s one down, 22 to go.
